I decided to cancel my paid subscription to Duolingo. Having that subscription does make a difference, as we, for instance, don't have to worry about making mistakes. Still, 9,000 yen for a year is almost twice as much as the cheapest PlayStation Plus package. I'd rather slog through the ads but save some pennies. Interestingly, Duolingo recently made me a tempting offer of a one-year subscription at 60% off. I decided not to give in. Nevertheless, I am glad I found my way into the group of 1% users of this platform, even though there are other apps or learning resources I use. However, Duolingo is one of the most convenient options for learning on the go: bus or train.
